Paul J Chrisco

USAF Veteran, Gold Star Husband, Fierce Seeker of Truth

My father was a Backhoe Operator and Foreman whom worked in the Mohave and Tehachapi Deserts of California. My mother worked for the IRS and later owned 2 very successful H&R Block franchises.

January of 1991, my father asked me what my plans were after I graduated in June 1991. I told him, “I think I’ll take a year off from school and then go to college.”

My father laughed and asked me, “Where are you going to live son?” I replied, “Here at home of course!” My father laughed some more and said, “I don’t support bums, so you have 2 choices:

  1. Go to college in the Fall, live at home, I will pay for your education, you can drive my truck but you will pay the car insurance, maintenance, and fuel.
  2. You become a man and men don’t live at home. Men get jobs to support themselves and you better have health insurance.”

The next week, I met the USAF Recruiter on the campus and he spoke to me. I took the ASVAB and scored high enough to qualify for every job the USAF offered except for any of the clerical/office jobs. I entered Bookcamp in July 1991 in scorching hot San Antonio Texas. I later became a Medic. I served most of my service at F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY under the 20th Air Force Space Command(Now Space Force). I worked on the OB Ward for 2 years and in the E.R. as a Nationally Registered E.M.T. and E.R. Medic. I received an Honorable Discharge. I testified at a Military Court Martial as a witness to an unfortunate issue.

While working in the E.R., a brilliant E.R. Physician named Captain Kevin Holbrook, whom has a B.S. in Computer Science, took me under his wing when he noticed I had a natural ability to understand computer systems. He encouraged me to get an A+ Training Manual and learn A+ to learn how computer systems work to later become a Computer Technician. I taught myself the material in the book and this started my life long path on attending expensive IT Certification Schools, community colleges, and Universities.

I met and married the love of my life while serving in the USAF. Robin wanted to serve the nation we both loved and I supported her decision to enlist in the USN in 1998, where she signed a blank check for up to and including her life. After 10 amazing and at times turbulent years together, her check was cashed in Nov. 2003; making me a Surviving Spouse and Gold Star Husband.

My family pushed me to go back to school, as I was spiraling down into the abyss of depression and “What Now God?”. I started classes Jan 2004, taking 16-18 credit hours a semester while not working and living on my own in my 1st home, which I had paid cash for.

I became an Entrepreneur in 2005, opening my first IT business and making it into a huge success in under 18 months. I closed it in 2011 to go back to college full time to finish my B.S. Degree. I applied to Kennesaw State University, was accepted, and moved out to Atlanta, GA arriving on my 39th birthday. I had an IT job within a week and had started rebuilding my life after the turbulent 2007 economic crash where I lost everything I ever worked for.

At the age of 45yo, I graduated from KSU in 2017 with a B.S. Degree in Integrative Studies and a Certificate in Leadership, with over 170 Successfully Completed Credit Hours. I am 3-4 classes/field away from no less than 3 more B.S. Degrees to include Information Security, Business Administration, and Leadership.

I have always valued knowledge, skills, and deep understanding over a piece of paper or a title.

I have repeatedly been immensely successful by seeking out opportunities to utilize all my abilities, skills, knowledge, experience, etc. to help Small Businesses Do Business more securely, more efficiently, and more effectively; while also eliminating technology issues by seeking out root problems and resolving them properly.
